Kaplan Lawyers PC is pleased to announce the availability of a scholarship for high school students that are entering college, which will be awarded at the beginning of the next academic year. This scholarship is designed to encourage and award creative authorship.
Why is creative authorship so important? The ability to clearly and accurately relay a message is crucial in any profession, and proficiency in writing will greatly aid students throughout their college career.
Scholarship applicants must submit a 500 to 1000-word essay (in a word doc or PDF format) on the dangers of distracted driving. Upon winning the scholarship, the student will need to come to the office to pick up the check and have their picture taken for our website and social media accounts.
The deadline for applications is May 1, 2019. The winner will be notified by June 14, 2019.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.;
- A high school student who is entering college;
- Be a current resident of the greater New York City area or Long Island, NY.
Applicants must submit the following by May 1, 2019:
- A completed Scholarship Application Form;
- Copy of college acceptance letter;
- Essay on the dangers of distracted driving.
- Ability to clearly convey a complex message.
Kaplan Lawyers PC Scholarship is a $1,500 award. We will notify the successful applicant. A check for $1,500 will be made payable to the applicable college, to help defray the recipient’s tuition costs and other expenses. The recipient is expected to abide with current tax laws.
